Fishing

The kids and I were very happy to have Erik home for a 4 day weekend. We were especially happy because these are the last days that he'll have off in the next 7-8 weeks. He has been working a lot of overtime at work not because he wants to but because he HAS to. He was at least getting Sundays off but starting next weekend, or I guess this weekend he's going to be working 7X10s. He thought since he wont be seeing us very much we would use one of his days off to take us all fishing! We LOVE to go fishing! The last few times we've been we haven't had much luck. Although we probably aren't going at the best time during the day. We started out at Harriet Lake, didn't catch a thing, although other people had caught quite a bit. We couldn't really fish where they were fishing though because we had Emmalynn in her stroller. We stayed there for a while but decided to move on to a different place. We went up to Timothy lake. With it being Memorial day weekend and a huge camping weekend we were very surprised that it was almost empty! Better for us I guess! We found a fire pit, roasted our hotdogs for dinner. The kids had a blast finding moss and pine cones to get the fire started.

Erika even made up a song while she was "building the fire" Ethan was climbing trees

and Emmalynn was sitting with mommy!

By the time we were done with our dinner the sun was going down and the fish were jumping like crazy! Erik caught the first one, Then we both cast out waited about 5 min and both got one at the same time! After about an hour we had caught 6 decent size trout!

The whole time the kids kept saying, "This is the best Saturday EVER"
